CF9 is the maximum-duty TPE control cable — the top of the chainflex® range for mechanical load and travel, pairing exceptional bend life with the widest environmental envelope in the lineup. The PVC- and halogen-free TPE jacket is abrasion-, notch-, hydrolysis- and microbe-resistant and UV-stable for indoor and outdoor use, while the cable bends to 5 × d, glides up to 1,312 ft (400 m) and beyond, and handles ±90° torsion. It carries almost unlimited oil resistance — including bio-oils (DIN EN 60811-404 / VDMA 24568) — flexes at low temperature to -50 °C (-58 °F) and holds to -55 °C (-67 °F) static, with an e-chain® ceiling of +100 °C (+212 °F). It's the unshielded cable for the longest, hardest-working travels in the most demanding environments.
When to use it: The most demanding long-travel, high-cycle flexing in oily (including bio-oil), cold, or outdoor environments — long-travel gantries and crane systems, storage-and-retrieval and high-bay warehouses, and machining centers where travel and bend life are at the limit.
When not to use it: When you need a shield (use the shielded CF10), when you need a UL-listed cable for North American code (use CF9.UL), when the priority is the smallest possible bend radius in a fine cable rather than long travel (use CF98.PLUS), or when the duty is lighter and a PVC or PUR cable such as CF5 or CF77.UL.D would do at lower cost.
Application areas: Long-travel gantries, crane and hoist systems, storage-and-retrieval and high-bay warehouses, outdoor and cold-environment automation, and machining centers with bio-oil exposure and extreme travel.
