CF77.UL.D is the flagship of the PUR control cable range — a high-duty, unshielded cable that combines fast, long-travel flexing with almost unlimited oil and coolant resistance and genuine torsion capability. The halogen-free, PVC-free PUR jacket is notch-, abrasion-, hydrolysis- and microbe-resistant and UV-stable for indoor and outdoor use in average sunlight, while the cable bends to a tight 6.8 × d, runs at speeds to 33 ft/s (10 m/s), and glides up to 328 ft (100 m). It flexes down to -40 °C (-40 °F), holds to -50 °C (-58 °F) static, carries strong oil resistance (DIN EN 50363-10-2) and a ±180° torsion rating, and is UL/CSA and NFPA 79 approved — the cable to reach for when one line has to handle demanding motion in a harsh, oily, exposed environment.
When to use it: High-duty, high-speed, long-travel flexing in oily, washdown, or outdoor environments — machine tools and machining centers, storage-and-retrieval and high-bay warehouse systems, and hard-working axes that also see occasional twisting.
When not to use it: When you need a shield (use the shielded CF78.UL), when the dominant motion is continuous twisting on a robot or in 3D space (use the torsion-optimized CFROBOT2), or when the duty is light and the setting is dry, clean, and indoor, where a lower-cost PVC cable such as CF5 or CF880 is enough.
Application areas: Coolant-exposed machine tools and machining centers, storage-and-retrieval and high-bay warehouse systems, outdoor and washdown automation, and high-duty axes combining long travel with occasional torsion.
