An anodized aluminum outer ring paired with iglide® J4 head rings delivers the platform’s signature blend of low weight, low cost, and maintenance-free operation, with the added benefit that aluminum brings: higher stability and the ability to absorb larger tilting moments than polymer-housing variants. Simple to install, fully wear-resistant, and the right default choice when no specialized requirement (FDA compliance, non-metallic build, sustainability, integrated mounting) is driving the spec.
When to use it: General-purpose mid-duty rotary applications needing higher tilting moment capacity than all-polymer variants offer, without the cost or complexity of stainless steel.
When not to use it: When a fully non-metallic build is required (use the iguton G with plastic screws), when washdown or FDA compliance applies (use the ES-A180 variant), when corrosion resistance is critical (use the ES variant), or when industrial-duty stiffness is needed (step up to PRT-01).
Application areas: Light robotics, monitor and flipchart pivots, lab and medical devices, semiconductor handling, packaging mechanisms, and general industrial pivots where moderate loads meet a need for low weight and low cost.
