iglidur® R | Low-cost material, low coefficient of friction

During the development of iglidur® R, the focus was on high performance and a very low price. In particular, low coefficients of friction and wear were to be achieved in dry operation. Components made of iglidur® R are specifically supported by a combination of solid lubricants. The PTFE-free and silicone-free material achieves outstandingly low coefficients of friction in dry operation and runs largely stick-slip-free.

Typical application areas

  • Motorcycle / scooter
  • Furniture / Industrial design

Sport, fitness & rehab

When do I use it?

  • If high wear resistance at low load is required
  • If you are looking for a very reasonably priced material
  • If a very low coefficient of friction is required in dry operation
  • If edge loads occur
  • If low moisture absorption is desired
  • If PTFE or silicone are not approved for the application

When not to use it?

  • If high pressure loads occur
  • If temperatures are continuously higher than +90°C
  • If the best possible wear resistance is required
Unsure if it fits?
