CF880 is the entry point to the chainflex® PVC control cable range — a low-duty, unshielded cable for light flexing in clean indoor installations. The flame-resistant PVC jacket (IEC 60332-1-2, VW-1) over bare-copper conductors carries UL/CSA AWM and NFPA 79 ratings, so it drops into standard machine builds without fuss. It bends to a minimum 12.5 × d and runs from +5 °C to +70 °C (+41 °F to +158 °F) in a moving e-chain®, and handles unsupported travels up to 32.8 ft (10 m). It's a low-duty cable with no oil resistance, built for dry, low-cycle motion rather than hard continuous duty.
When to use it: Light, low-frequency flexing in clean indoor machinery — woodworking, stone processing, packaging, supply systems, and handling or adjusting equipment — where there's no oil and the duty cycle is gentle.
When not to use it: When you need a braided shield against electrical interference (use the shielded twin CF881), when the cable will meet oil or coolant (use the oil-resistant CF130US or CF150.UL), when the application needs higher mechanical load, longer travel, or higher speed (use CF130.UL or CF5), or when it faces outdoors, UV, or aggressive chemistry (move to PUR-jacketed CF77.UL.D or TPE-jacketed CF9).
Application areas: Woodworking and stone-processing machines, packaging lines, indoor supply systems, light handling and adjusting mechanisms, and other dry, low-cycle installations.
