CFROBOT2 is the dedicated robotics cable of the control range — built for twistable, three-dimensional motion rather than the linear flexing the other cables are optimized for. A torsion-resistant tinned-copper braid (approx. 85% coverage) under a low-adhesion, halogen-free, highly abrasion-resistant PUR jacket lets it withstand ±180° torsion over a 1 m length while following a robot through 3D space. It bends to 10 × d, runs at speeds to 33 ft/s (10 m/s), resists oil and coolant, and is UV-, notch-, hydrolysis- and microbe-resistant, with an e-chain® range of -25 °C to +80 °C (-13 °F to +176 °F) reaching -50 °C (-58 °F) static, plus NFPA 79 and cleanroom ratings (ISO 14644-1).
When to use it: Twisting, three-dimensional motion on six-axis and articulated robots — dress packs, wrist- and forearm-axis runs, and any application where the cable is repeatedly rotated rather than simply bent back and forth.
When not to use it: When the motion is long, fast linear travel or gliding rather than continuous twisting (use the high-duty CF77.UL.D or shielded CF78.UL), or when there's no torsion at all and the run is simple guided flexing in a clean, dry setting, where a standard flexing cable such as CF5 or CF6 will do for less.
Application areas: Six-axis and articulated robot dress packs, rotating wrist and forearm axes, 3D pick-and-place and welding robots, and cleanroom robotics where repeated torsion is the defining stress.
