CF78.UL is the shielded counterpart to CF77.UL.D — the same high-duty PUR cable for fast, long-travel flexing in oily, washdown, and outdoor settings, with a braided shield for EMC-critical runs. It shares the halogen-free, notch-, abrasion-, hydrolysis- and microbe-resistant PUR jacket, the 6.8 × d minimum bend radius, the speeds to 33 ft/s (10 m/s) and 328 ft (100 m) gliding travel, the oil and coolant resistance, the -40 °C (-40 °F) flexing and -50 °C (-58 °F) static cold rating, and the UL/CSA and NFPA 79 approvals — adding noise immunity for control and signal lines that work hard in harsh environments.
When to use it: High-duty, high-speed, long-travel flexing where EMC matters and the environment is oily, washdown, or outdoor — shielded control and signal runs on machine tools, storage-and-retrieval systems, and outdoor automation.
When not to use it: When no shield is needed and cost matters (use the unshielded CF77.UL.D), when the dominant motion is continuous twisting on a robot (use CFROBOT2), or when the duty is light and the setting is dry and indoor, where a shielded PVC cable such as CF6 will do for less.
Application areas: EMC-sensitive high-duty control runs on coolant-exposed machine tools, storage-and-retrieval and high-bay systems, and outdoor or washdown automation with long, fast travel.
