CF98 is a heaviest-duty TPE control cable optimized for the tightest spaces — bending to a minimum 4 × d in fine cross-sections (from 0.14 mm²) for fast, small-radius flexing where standard cables won't fit. The PVC- and halogen-free TPE jacket resists oil and bio-oils, the highly flexible special-alloy conductors run at speeds to 33 ft/s (10 m/s), and the cable handles ±90° torsion across an e-chain® range of -35 °C to +90 °C (-31 °F to +194 °F) reaching -55 °C (-67 °F) static, with a cleanroom rating (ISO 14644-1).
When to use it: Fast, small-radius flexing of fine control and signal lines in tight, clean installations — compact handling, pick-and-place, and laboratory or semiconductor automation where bend radius and conductor size are both at the limit.
When not to use it: For new designs, use the current successor CF98.PLUS, which bends even tighter (3 × d) and adds low-temperature flexibility; when you need a shield, use CF99.PLUS; and when long travel or higher conductor counts matter more than the smallest radius, use CF9.
Application areas: Compact pick-and-place and handling machines, laboratory and semiconductor automation, cleanroom equipment, and fine-conductor runs in space-restricted installations.
