CFSOFT1 sits at the top of the PVC range for flexibility — a highly flexible, soft-design cable for the heaviest-duty flexing in the tightest spaces and bending down to a minimum 5 × d. The soft construction lowers the bending forces the cable imposes on a small e-chain®, which matters in fast, short-stroke moves where space is restricted. It runs at speeds to 33 ft/s (10 m/s), is oil-resistant, cleanroom-tested, and built in fine cross-sections (0.25–0.5 mm²) with a +5 °C to +70 °C (+41 °F to +158 °F) range within e-chains and UL/CSA and NFPA 79 approvals.
When to use it: Fast, short-stroke flexing in tight installations where small bend radii and low cable forces are critical — pick-and-place machines, automatic doors, and very quick handling, including cleanroom duty.
When not to use it: When you need a shield (use the shielded CFSOFT2), when you don't need the tight radii or soft design and want lower cost (use CF5), or when the application demands a jacket built for outdoor, high-temperature, or aggressive-chemical service (move to the PUR or TPE families such as CF77.UL.D or CF9).
Application areas: Pick-and-place machines, automatic doors, very fast short-stroke handling, cleanroom automation, and other tight installations needing the smallest radii and lowest bending forces.
