CF881 is the shielded counterpart to CF880 — the same low-duty PVC control cable, with a braided shield added for applications where electrical noise has to be kept off (or contained within) the cable. It shares CF880's flame-resistant PVC jacket, +5 °C to +70 °C (+41 °F to +158 °F) operating range and 12.5 × d minimum bend radius within e-chains®, and low-duty flexing rating, with a wider span of fine-conductor core counts (from 0.5 mm² up). The shield makes it the choice when sensitive signal or control lines run alongside drives or other interference sources in an otherwise clean, dry installation.
When to use it: Light flexing in indoor machinery where EMC matters — control and signal runs near VFDs, servo drives, or other noise sources in packaging, handling, and general automation that stays dry and oil-free.
When not to use it: When no shield is required and you want to save cost (use the unshielded CF880), when the cable will see oil or coolant (use the shielded, oil-resistant CF140US or CF160.UL), when you need higher mechanical load, longer travel, or torsion (use CF140.UL or CF6), or when the environment turns outdoor, chemically aggressive, or hot (step into the PUR or TPE families such as CF78.UL or CF9).
Application areas: EMC-sensitive control and measurement runs in packaging and handling equipment, indoor automation cells, supply systems, and adjusting mechanisms where signal integrity in a clean, dry setting is the priority.
