E6-1: new generation of low-noise & clean-room suitable e-chains®

After 10 successful years as a clean-room and “whisper“ chain, the new generation is in the starting blocks. Besides the E6‘s proven benefits the new generation offers further advantages that significantly simplify the handling. Moreover, due to changes in the design the accessibility to the interior has been improved, the weight reduced and the assembly made easier.
  • Version without camber by turning the inner links
  • Super quiet due to small pitch and "brake" in the stop dog system
  • (E61.29.070.055.0 at 1m/s = 32dB(A) according to igus internal test 4479)
  • Extremely low vibration
  • Low-abrasion fastening system (no pin/hole connection)
  • Virtually no polygon effect, resulting in smooth operation
  • The smooth inner space is free of awkward edges for a long service-life of cables and hoses
  • Series E61-29: Crossbars snap-open on both sides and are removable along the inner and outer radius
  • Approx. 30% weight reduction compared to System E6
  • Low-priced
E6-1 system New generation interior separation, even more cable-friendly.
E61-29 system New snap-open mechanism, Series E61-29 optionally snaps open on left or right sides

e-chain with 6-1 – swivelable crossbars

To protect the cables and hoses in the e-chain® even more effectively the design of the new E6-1 has been majorly advanced. Opening crossbars are very smooth and rounded, as is the transition from the chain link to the opening crossbar. All injection and marking locations were positioned outside of the cable cross-section.

IPA
IPA classification - Report IG1303-640-1: ISO Class 1, according to standard DIN EN ISO 14644-1
for series E61.29.050.075.0.CR with v = 0.5 m/s, 1.0 m/s, 2.0 m/s

Extremely low noise
E61.29.070.055.0 at 1m/s = 32dB(A) according to igus internal test 4479

E6-1 graph Y = weight [kg/m]

The new E6-1 generation has increased acceleration capability due to weight reduction - the e-chain® is also extremely quiet and highly dynamic.
Fraunhofer test Y = Noise level dB (A)

Series E61-29 underwent noise testing in the igus® lab and demonstrates a noise level at -2 dB(A) below the already class-leading noise level of the igus® Series E6-29.

igus® for clean-rooms - suitability of E6-1 e-chains®

The already low abrasion of the e-chain® is yet again significantly reduced by employing a special material. In many applications where cumbersome special solutions are used, a simple standard e-chain® can be used instead. An extensive test program has been completed for both gliding and unsupported applications. For many applications, the e-chain® made of special material can be operated practically free of abrasion. IPA testing has confirmed that standard e-chains® by igus® meet clean-room requirements, and have been rated as ”tested and rated as very good“. Clean-rooms call for a very high wear-resistance of moving parts - e-chains® (for example) must therefore be highly wear-resistant in order to meet the standard specifications for this sensitive environment.
