Krones AG Packaging System

Regarding Variopac Pro, a fully automatic all-rounder packaging system, Krones faced a problem in 2005: the system's performance had to be increased by 20 packages per minute. Hence, there was an urgent need for action during the deflection of the conveyor belts.

Wear test in the test laboratory

Tumble test rig: load 1N/mm², speed 0.3m/s

To give you precise details on the wear rate of our conveyor rollers, these are examined under realistic conditions in our test laboratory. Four different iglide® materials as well as PET-P and POM-C were tested. To also make statements regarding the wear behavior depending on the shaft materials, conveyor rollers were tested on V2A and silver steel shafts.

Load: 1MPa, speed: 0.3m/s and 0.6m/s

Conveyor rollers made of various iglide® materials running on 304 stainless steel shafts were tested. The materials were tested at speeds of 0.3m/s and 0.6m/s.
