Flexible cables in energy chains or robots need special characteristics to last through many cycles, high speeds and accelerations, as well as demanding environmental conditions. Yet another requirement is that EMV safety standards, as well as NFPA 79, UL, CSA, VDE, Inter- and Profibus standards are met. The igus® chainflex® product range extends from energy chain compatible control cables, servo cables, motor cables, as well as robot cables, bus cables, data cables, encoder cables and fiber-optic cables.

Assembled drive cables: readycable®

chainflex® assembled drive cables for energy chains are cables for bending radii from 7.5xd. Harnessed drive cables are tested in energy chains with millions of cycles. There are servo cables, signal cables and feeder cables to choose from. The chainflex® assembled drive cable has various approvals and compliances: UL, CSA, CE Desina. This highly flexible cable is designed for high stressing and is also available as a flame-retardant and oil-resistant cable. The data cable is hydrolysis-resistant and oil-resistant according to type and can be used in high speeds and accelerations. A combination of these different properties is possible as both a shielded and unshielded drive cable.

igus® guide troughs and strain-reliefs

Guide troughs are used in long travels according to chain type from 16.4 ft to 39.37 ft (5–12 m). They support the smooth low-friction operation of the igus® energy chains and Energy Tubes.
igus® strain reliefs were developed specifically for use in energy chains and dynamic applications. The combination of chainflex® cable materials and the contacting plastic components of the chainfix strain relief systems from igus® are designed for high cable durability and maximum holding force.
