Special machine tool engineering with the focus on reinforcing steel processing: A new system has been developed for a new finished part system, which produces steel baskets in batch size 1 fully automatic. A hall train with an especially developed gripper places the mats or baskets - with dimensions about 500 x 500 mm up to 3.500 x 12.000 mm - in millimetre precision. The gripper needs to be lightweight, stabile, very moveable and telescopic. Problematic was the energy supply in the gripper. To cover it and protect it against dust and dirt, an aluminium profile has been selected that offers space for e-chains® from igus®. Pneumatic hoses or also a 14-pole data cable are safely positioned. An e-spool® from igus® guarantees the mayor supply of the gripper.
