Steel production

Steel is produced round the clock in this application. The steel needs to be transported on quickly to prevent it cooling down too quickly during the manufacturing process and to allow it to be processed further. Travel speed is 16 feet per second. A metal chain previously used for energy supplies in the plant often failed because individual links broke. Replacing this chain by a polymer igus® e-chain® significantly increased the plant's reliability.
