Rust is never present with media-resistant linear systems from igus®
drylin
® linear technology combines the corrosion-resistance of thermoplastic bearing liners with shafting and rail systems made of soft stainless steel (including 300-series) or hard-anodized aluminum. Ball bearings can damage soft stainless steel, and therefore require a hardened surface. Hardened stainless steels are more prone to corrosion, making drylin
® better able to avoid rusting.
The lack of external lubrication and grease in drylin® is another factor in creating corrosion-resistance. drylin
® is also well-suited to tackle tough applications, including chemical wash down environments in the food processing industries, as well as saltwater environments.
