xiros® thrust bearings are made of xirodur®® high-performance polymers which lead to a significant weight reduction when compared to metal ball bearings. Their vibration-dampening capability is up to 250 times that of metallic bearings and provides for smooth-running and excellent wear rates. As neither external lubrication nor general maintenance is required, these thrust bearings work well in a variety of applications, whether medical cleanroom equipment, dirty and dusty packaging environments or even FDA compliant food contact.
xiros® thrust bearings consist of an outer and inner race as well as the cage which are all made of xirodur®® high performance polymers, designed and created by igus®.
