We categorized the materials into application groupings in order to simplify the introduction to the world of iglide® materials and to provide an initial orientation. The respective group assignment points to the outstanding properties of an iglide® material. However, this can frequently not be done without overlap, since a material is generally characterized by several core properties. For example, the material iglide® A500 is assigned to the application grouping of FDA compliant materials. At the same time this material is also rated for a long-term service temperature of 482°F.
The substances contained in all iglide® materials comply with the requirements of Directive 2011/65/EU (RoHS 2).

You can use one of the five standards - iglide® G, L280, J, X, and M250 - for almost all applications with non-lubricated, dry-running bushings. Together they cover a huge range from extremely dirt-accumulating applications (iglide® M250) up to ambient conditions that include contact with chemicals and 482°F (iglide® T500). iglide G is the best decathlete that is a cut above the average in almost all disciplines. This group summarizes iglide® materials that have virtually universal use under normal conditions (temperature, media, etc.). These include iglide® GLW and iglide® J4 as low-cost solutions for mass production.
iglide® P and iglide® K have similar potential to iglide® G in conjunction with markedly reduced moisture absorption, which is a benefit in damp environments.
Of course, each iglide® plain bearing is optimized for wear, but the materials in this group, such as the standards iglide® J and iglide® L280, are characterized by particularly low wear rates, resulting in long service life. In addition to their absolute service life and price level, these materials are differentiated, among other characteristics, by their potential temperature and load ranges, as well as their use in combination with special shaft materials.
Here, you will find high temperature specialists for long-term service temperatures up to 482°F (exception: iglide® V400 at 392°F). iglide® X6 can now surpass the standard solution iglide® T500 in these regards in many rotating and pivoting applications. iglide® Z has for some time now established itself as the standard with extremely low wear rates under high load and/or temperatures. iglide® V400 has shown to be a problem solver for many special applications and iglide® UW500 is the specialist for hot liquids.
Being almost on a par with the aforementioned group with respect to temperatures, the "iglide® H family" has proven itself with its high resistance to media and a broad range of uses for wet applications. iglide® H370 is the specialist for underwater applications, iglide® H2 the media-resistant, low cost solution for mass production with low operational performance and iglide® H1 the endurance runner in this group.
iglide® bearings are an ideal solution for the food and beverage processing industries, as well as in packaging, pharmaceuticals, and other applications where hygienic operation is required. This group of materials is all FDA compliant, and offers resistance to moisture, temperature extremes, and other requirements.
The iglide® specialists for high loads, high wear resistance combines with the ability to withstand high (static) loads, shock and edge loads. As part of these properties, they all come with their own particular strengths. High loads mean radial surface pressures from 4,351 to far beyond 14,500 PSI (14,500 psi corresponds to 2,205 lb on a bushing of 10 mm x 10 mm).
