Twenty-five students from Algonquin Regional High School used iglide® plastic plain bearings, igubal® spherical bearings and drylin® S aluminum shafting on their robot known as “SPAZ-BOT”.
With igus®’ products, the team reduced the weight of its robot and created a roller system. The system delivers balls to an automatic shooting mechanism, which propels game balls into goals set more than 10 feet off the ground.
The team placed 15th out of 44 teams and won the Johnson & Johnson Sportsmanship Award and the DaimlerChrysler Team Spirit Award.
