Special prize for a truly unique yacht conceptThe first variable-width high-sea catamaranhas been built using igus® components. Thesedouble-hull boots always need two adjacentberths in the harbour – which is veryexpensive and usually impossible to book inthe peak season. Craning is extremely difficult, since there are hardly any systems with a minimumwidth of eight metres available. Thanksto a patent-protected innovative, the width ofhigh-sea catamarans has now been able tobe reduced to 4.85 metres enabling them touse the infrastructures of single-hull ships inthe harbour. A combination of e-chains® of theseries E04 and linear guides from the drylin®family from igus® offer all the necessary characteristicsto deal with the torsion load andrealise adjustment perfectly.
