Format Adjustment in Modern Testing and Packaging System from Wipotec

The TQS-SP TE from Wipotec is a solution for product guidance, printing by means of an integrated Tamper Evidence unit and the tamper-proof sealing of folding boxes. The system is the last station in packaging machines and can be easily integrated into existing plants.

The machine focuses on serialization in small installation spaces in order to save as much space as possible in existing systems. This is made possible by flexible components, which can be individually adjusted to different packaging sizes in the small spaces. The print head, the camera positioning and the sensors in the TQS-SP TE can be adjusted precisely by hand without any tools. The machine performance can also be shown. With up to 600 products packed per minute, fast serialization and sealing of the goods is achieved. In order to be able to guarantee the various format adjustments under FDA requirements, as well as conveyor systems under high loads and in continuous operation, robust and maintenance-free bearing components were sought.

For this reason, drylin linear bearings in particular, but also plastic plain bearings made of iglide are used at various points within the testing and packaging system.

For side and format adjustments to set the machine for different folding box dimensions, drylin SHT linear systems are used, which can be adjusted precisely by hand (see picture 1 down).

A highly wear-resistant round bar made of iglide JB is used as a transfer roller in the system. It also offers low coefficients of friction and operates without lubrication (picture 2).

The drylin lead screws used are robust and allow adjustments under high loads and long stroke lengths (picture 3).

Several pressure rollers are used for product transport, which keep the products securely on track and ensure the short processing cycles. In the rollers, dry-running and maintenance-free iglide J plain bearings prove themselves in continuous operation (picture 4).

In addition to the format adjustments of the testing and packaging unit, drylin SHT lead screw linear systems are also used for the adjustment of the sensors. Their precision and robustness guarantee convenient operation with maximum availability (picture 5).

Last but not least, Wipotec's module also uses xiros ball bearings in the guide rollers. Like all components, they are also fully FDA-compliant (picture 6).
