drylin® gear-driven linear actuators with cantilever axes

Rack and pinion driven drylin® linear actuators offer superior technical advantages over their metal counterparts. Designed with self-lubricating plastic components, our rack and pinion systems require no external lubrication or maintenance. They’re also lightweight and resistant to dirt, dust and corrosion. Our gear racks are suitable for many positioning and adjustment tasks in the vertical plane and are 30% more cost-effective than belt deflection. Grippers are also available for pick and place applications.

This machine prepares samples in the field of trace analysis. The aim should is to use comparable glassware and chemicals in similar manual machines. The contract was awarded to igus, as all of the components used, such as the GRW rack axis, worked ideally due to its' resistance to chemicals and dirt.

A maintenance-free linear robot from igus is used in a customized automation solution for the complex handling of liquids by the company M2-Automation. In addition to the robustness, the linear robot is characterized by its cost-effectiveness. The drylin GRQ racks are used as dosing z-axes along with a variably clampable proximity switch holder and self-aligning plain bearings, to ensure the highest precision during operation.
