1. Determine series and chain width
Specify which cables you would like to use for the chain. The type of cable(s) and the largest cable diameter determine the series and chain width selection. We recommend that you allow for a cable clearance of approx. 20% of the chain's inner height and width. For instance, you must choose Series 3808 for a cable diameter of 1.18 (30 mm).
2. Specify the outer and inner radius
Determine the installation space available to you (dimension X1 and X2)
example: α = 220° / max. cable diameter 0.94 (24 mm) -> Series 2808
X2 = 22.83 (580 mm) -> AR = 19.69 (500 mm)
X1 = 12.20 (310 mm) -> IRmin. = 15.35 (390 mm) -> Selection table -> 15.43 (392 mm)
3. Specify the bend radius
HF = 18.11 (460 mm) -> H ≤ 16.14 (410 mm) -> R = = 7.00 (178 mm) -> R175*
*next smallest radius
Result: Series 2808, Part No. 2808-087-175/500
4. Calculate the required number of links
- Always round up the calculated number of links
- The mounting brackets may only be mounted to the outer links of the twisterchain, so the number of links must always be rounded up to the next odd number

The following clearances are absolutely essential for the chain to function correctly:
- **IRmin. = X1 + 3.15" (80 mm)
- X2 min = AR + 3.15" (80 mm)
- HF = H + 1.97" (50 mm)
- Chain height including clearance**
