Centrifugal clutch with long service life due to polymer bearings

This centrifugal clutch from Giprime Hyper Racing is used in 2-stroke racing bikes. The function of a centrifugal clutch is to establish the power connection from the engine to the drive. As the speed increases, the clutch linings are pressed outwards against the clutch bell. This creates a permanent pivoting movement for which the installation of bushings is suitable. However, couplings of this type are normally fitted without bushes, which leads to rapid wear of the component. As a result, the couplings often have to be completely replaced after a short time.
The manufacturer's problem was therefore high wear on the pin and the coupling connecting elements. Due to the use in racing bikes, the stress is much higher than on normal scooters.

The coupling from Giprime Hyper Racing therefore uses iglidur ® Z bushings today, which can also withstand the heavy loads in racing. They are characterised by their particularly long service life under extreme conditions, their wear resistance and impact resistance at high loads and temperatures. In the case of Giprime Hyper Racing, the friction between the pin and housing has been significantly reduced and the service life of the coupling increased.
Furthermore, it is no longer necessary to replace the entire centrifugal clutch, but only the plastic plain bearing within a few minutes. This saves the customer time and money.
Compared to metal bearings, plastic plain bearings also take much less time to adjust. This provides an important time advantage, especially in racing.
