Maximum service life from the roller: condition monitoring in P4HD roller chain

i.Cee:plus II & EC.I in new heavy-duty rol e-chain® with direct integration in the roller chain link

In the latest development stage of the igus rol e-chains, the use of maintenance-free, tribo-polymer plain bearings in the connection of the e-chain links also considerably lengthens the service life.  As an option, the new P4.1 can be fitted with smart monitoring sensors. Thereby from a defined wear limit, a signal is issued to the igus icom communication module and with it maintenance can be planned in advance. The sensor is thereby integrated into a standard side part of the chain, which does not lead to any restrictions in the usable inner width.

What does predictive maintenance do?

smart plastics - i.Cee:plus II

Smart networking of individual components creates the solid foundation for predictive maintenance concepts.  At igus®, we call our predictive maintenance system "i.Cee. The central element of this system is the i.Cee software. This software, in conjunction with sensors on the energy chain, transforms products deliverable from stock into smart products. This upgrade creates the possibility to determine the maximum service life as well as the perfect service time of your igus product. Self-learning algorithms adjust the service life and service time according to usage.

Energy harvesting - What does this mean?

This and many more answers in our blog

Energy harvesting eliminates the need for cables to supply power or recharge batteries in mobile devices. Vibrations on devices, machines or buildings or temperature differences between tubes, cables, radiators or valves and the environment can be used to generate electrical energy.

The evolution of the igus® rol e-chain®

The rolling energy chain for long travels and heavy duty

The roller energy chain has been the tried-and-tested energy supply for long travels for about 20 years. The successful design which characterises all our linear energy chain systems is supplemented by rollers made of stainless steel, which upgrade the energy chain to an energy supply for heavy-duty applications. As the energy chain rolls and does not glide, it runs silently and with low vibration. The wear is significantly lower than with a design without rollers, and the power needed for the movement is also about 57% lower.
