Product description
i.Sense EC.B - intelligent Condition monitoring system for breakage detection of e-chains®
The functional principle of condition monitoring can be described in a few sentences: The EC.B sensor immediately detects a chain link breakage on the e-chain® and triggers a message immediately in the event of a case. This allows you or your system to intervene, frequently preventing both additional damage (to the opposite chain link) and system shutdown.

  • i.Sense module (EC = e-chain B = break detection) detects breaks in individual chain links
  • A rope is passed through the e-chain and tightened to record any change in length and report it to the EC.B. sensor.
  • This detects chain breaks, shuts down the system and prevents further damage

i.Sense EC.B (a.o with 3D data, function video, ...) is already a long-standing standard as a condition monitoring system in conveyor technology or crane technology. Other typical application areas are in the building materials industry or automotive manufacturing.

i.Sense:module II
The i.Sense evaluation unit is designed for simple module installation on top-hat (DIN) rails and allows fast integration into the existing plant control system via normally closed contacts (24V DC power supply). All sensor data are evaluated based on igus® algorithms and accordingly inform the plant control system instantly in the event of emerging mechanical faults.
