One of the biggest limitations of a traditional robotic arm is the fact they remain stationary. Thankfully, igus® has developed a solution. Using a drylin® belt-driven actuator and an adapter kit, your robotic arm can easily be updated with a robot transfer unit (RTU), allowing for a wide range of possibilities and application potential. igus RTUs offer dry-running and dirt-resistant operation, making them the ideal choice in dusty and dirty environments. They’re even suited for clean environments, depending on specific application requirements. Both vertical and horizontal installations are possible, and small RTUs can even be mounted to an AGV for increased flexibility. Even if you’re not using an igus robot, you can still make use of a drylin RTU, as they’re compatible with various leading robot brands, such as Universal Robots, Epson, and FANUC.
igus robot transfer units (RTUs) aren’t just limited to igus robotic arms. Robotic arms from UR, Epson, FANUC, and more can all be easily outfitted with our RTUs to ensure we can provide a solution to as many customers as possible.
