The D1 gives machine designers the flexibility to select the right motor for each application without requiring a different controller for every motor technology. By combining multiple motor types, browser-based configuration and industrial communication capabilities in one platform, the D1 can help reduce engineering time and simplify machine design.
Instead of spending time learning different controllers, installing specialized software or developing complex control programs, engineers can configure and manage their motion system through an intuitive web interface. This helps simplify development, streamline commissioning and make it easier to standardize motion control across machine designs.
Reduce Engineering Time
Simplify setup and configuration.
Standardize Machine Design
Use one controller platform across different motor technologies.
Accelerate Commissioning
Configure motion quickly through an intuitive web interface.
Your two-week evaluation is designed to help you determine whether the D1 is the right fit for your application—with no obligation to purchase.
Please Note: The simulation tool only functions on the "Drive Profiles" tab.
Simplify your automation system without limiting your motor options. Learn how the igus® dryve® D1 motor controller can control stepper, DC, and brushless DC motors from a single platform—reducing engineering time, simplifying commissioning, and lowering maintenance costs.
Discover how one controller can help standardize your machine design while giving you the flexibility to choose the right motor for every axis.

At the end of your two-week trial, you'll have the opportunity to provide feedback on your experience with the D1. If the controller is a good fit for your application, you can purchase the trial unit. If you decide not to move forward, simply return the controller to igus using the provided return instructions.
Yes. The two-week D1 trial is provided at no cost. You can evaluate the controller in your application without purchasing it upfront.
Yes. An igus® expert will support your evaluation and help answer questions during setup and testing.
No. The D1 features a web-based interface designed to simplify configuration without requiring programming.
The D1 can control one motor.
The D1 dryve supports input signals that include: Digital Inputs/Outputs, Analog Inputs, Step/Direction, CANopen, and Modbus TCP Gateway
The D1 can support stepper motors, EC/BLDC motors, and DC motors. All of these types of motors are provided by igus® and can be easily paired with dryve® motor controllers.
No software download or app installation is necessary to program the D1. All D1 programming can be done via a program within your web browser.
No, a PLC is not required to control motors with the D1. However, the D1 can still communicate with PLCs.
The dryve® experience provides numerous videos about the control systems igus® offers. These videos cover applications, commissioning, and general help topics, for example understanding status messages from the controller.
The D1 can process line driver and single-ended encoder signals. The controller can process two phases from the Hall sensor for DC motors and three phases from the Hall sensor for EC/BLDC motors. Analog signals can also be processed (0VDC to 10VDC and -10VDC to 10VDC).
The logic of the D1 requires 12VDC to 24VDC. The load can process 12VDC to 48VDC.
The D1 has an output current of 7A. The boost current, which lasts for two seconds, is 21A.
The D1 has the option of Tip / Teach (Learn in). This is done via the binary inputs.
The D1 stands out from other drives due to its easy commissioning, support for three different motor types (Stepper / EC/BLDC / DC), intuitive user interface, and igus® post-sale service.
The D1 supports open-loop. If the controlled motor has an encoder, closed-loop operation is also possible.
