This new condition sensor can quickly provide information about the wear condition of the chain via colored indicators. Abrasion exposes wear additives in the chain links and provides information on the condition of the gliding e-chain®.
With a green sensor, everything is in great condition. As abrasion increases, the color changes to yellow, showing the operator that the chain has experienced some wear. If the indicator is red, the chain should be checked and replaced if necessary.
The decreasing distance between the crossbars also indicates the state of wear.
In the new status, the bright green color indicates that everything is OK and there is no need for action.

Here you can clearly see that the status indicator protrudes beyond the crossbars in a new installation.

After many cycles, the first colored layers were rubbed off. The abrasion marks are clearly visible.

Further wear has exposed the red layer. This communicates at a glance that there is a need for action.

Here, we show how the color of the indicator changes over time to reflect its condition. After intensive use, the red layer becomes visible. It indicates that there is a need for action. This way, the e-chain that the indicator is attached to can be evaluated and replaced if needed before failure could occur.
